Multi-Award Winning Equine Learning Centre Helping People Go From Trauma to Transformation

The Way of the Horse is a renowned Equine Facilitated Learning center that is committed to assisting individuals, including children and adults with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, through their interactions with horses.

Many of the people we support come from disadvantaged backgrounds or have experienced significant trauma

The center also provides services for staff wellbeing, stress management, team building, and leadership development.

Additionally, we offer equine facilitated learning (EFL) CPD accredited courses to train new EFL coaches in working with horses and people.

Dina Shale and her team of dedicated staff and volunteers run the center. Dina, with her extensive experience helping both humans and horses, is a highly trained practitioner.

The center operates as a registered not-for-profit social enterprise, driven by a vision to promote self-empowerment using unique equine therapy methods.

Our aim is to help individuals achieve complete peace and optimal well-being by cultivating mindfulness and emotional agility, translating their work with horses into positive and sustainable actions.

The mission of The Way of the Horse is to provide tailored and customized support programs for individuals from all backgrounds, including children, young people, families, and businesses, to facilitate self-healing and inner growth

Why Do We Use Horses

Here’s why: We embrace three core values.

Learn: We impart theoretical knowledge and effective strategies for stress management, anxiety reduction, and trauma healing.

Embody: This is where horses play a pivotal role in our approach. They facilitate those “aha” moments of comprehension that often elude us when we merely rely on listening or instruction.

Integrate: Our aim is to enable you to apply the lessons learned and strategies acquired during the sessions into your daily life, fostering personal growth and improved well-being.

We pride ourselves on the results we deliver and know how effective the equine techniques are.

At our center, we embrace the profound influence of horses in facilitating a profound mind-body connection.

Horses possess an inherent sensitivity and intuition, allowing them to reflect our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Through our work with horses, we acquire the ability to identify and release limiting patterns, fostering enhanced self-awareness, empathy, and resilience. Utilizing somatic trauma-informed methods and mindfulness, our distinctive program engages the body and nervous system.

Our programs cater to individuals and groups seeking personal growth, leadership development, and team building. Regardless of your familiarity with horses—whether you’re an experienced equestrian or a novice—our skilled facilitators provide a secure and encouraging environment to forge a meaningful bond with these majestic creatures.
